Director

Dr. Kathryn (Kate) A. Foster is Director of the University at Buffalo Regional Institute, The State University of New York. Prior to assuming her current position in 2005, Foster was chair of the University at Buffalo Department of Urban and Regional Planning. Foster earned her B.A. in geography from Johns Hopkins University, her M.C.P. (city planning) from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Ph.D. in public and international affairs from Princeton University.

Daniel J. Fiorino is Director of the Center for Environmental Policy and Executive in Residence at the School of Public Affairs at American University. The Center’s mission is to evaluate and improve environmental governance in the United States. He also teaches courses on environmental and energy policy, environmental sustainability, and public management.

Tom L. Roberts is the Clifford R. King Endowed Professor of Computer Information Systems in the College of Business and the Director of the Center for Information Assurance at Louisiana Tech University. He received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Auburn University in 1993 and has previously held faculty positions at Middle Tennessee State University, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Kansas. He has published over 20 refereed articles and is also a member of IFIP Working Group 8.11 / 11.13 on Information Systems Security Research.

Gary J. Young is Director of the Northeastern University Center for Health Policy and Healthcare Research as well as Professor of Strategic Management and Healthcare Systems, Northeastern University. He is affiliated with the Health Services Research and Development Service of the Department of Veterans Affairs.  Before joining Northeastern University, he was chairman of the Department of Health Policy and Management at Boston University and also worked as a healthcare attorney within the federal government and for a national healthcare consulting firm.

Douglas W. Webster is a Senior Fellow with the George Washington University Center for Excellence in Public Leadership, where he teaches Enterprise Risk Management.  He is also the Director of Government to Government Risk Management at the U. S. Agency for International Development and the founder and former president of the Cambio Consulting Group.

David Stern is Director of Online Engagement at AmericaSpeaks. He manages web-based citizen participation projects and innovations for the organization and works with partners in government and civil society to enable citizens to shape policymaking using democratic
online tools. David has led the creation of ASonline.org, a portfolio of online services and tools AmericaSpeaks utilizes in its online engagement initiatives. He also led the development of TheAmericanSquare.org, a new social network for cross-partisan, civil discourse about policy and politics.
